Families flee Cambodia flooding

Residents struggle to wade through floodwaters that have inundated their village in north-western Cambodia. Around a thousand families in the area have been evacuated from their homes after heavy rain in neighbouring Thailand forced the Poipet River to overflow. Evacuated villagers were moved to temporary accommodation in a fruit and vegetable market located just 200 metres from the Thai border. (SOUNDBITE) (Khmer) O'CHROU VILLAGER: I faced great difficulty when the floods came, it flooded my house, washed away my things. But I'm not worried about what was washed away, I had to escape. Cambodian authorities say they expect the flooding to continue for the next four or five days.
