The Radiation Belt Storm Probes (RBSP) is designed to help us understand the Sun's influence on Earth and Near-Earth space by studying the Earth's radiation belts on various scales of space and time. The mission is part of the Living With a Star program and consists of two satellites that will orbit the Earth within the Van Allen radiation belts. The mission is scheduled to launch on August 23, 2012 at 08:08 UTC from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral on an Atlas V401 rocket.
