He's suspected of masterminding the 2008 attacks on Mumbai ... and now the U.S. is putting a $10 million dollar bounty on the head of Pakistani Islamist leader Hafiz Mohammad Saeed. The 61-year-old Arab scholar is believed to have orchestrated the three day rampage on Mumbai which left 166 people dead including six Americans. An Interpol warrant for Saeed appears not to have hindered his movement within Pakistan - Last week, the head of a charity some believe is a front for the outlawed militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, evaded police to address an anti-U.S. rally in the Pakistani capital. Saeed's relative freedom has angered Indian authorities who have welcomed the U.S. announcement. Ujjwal Nikam was the prosecutor for the Mumbai attacks. SOUNDBITE: Ujjwal Nikam, prosecutor for the Mumbai attacks saying: Hafiz Saeed has masterminded the entire criminal conspiracy, had provoked the terrorist persons. Not only that he had attended training camps in Pakistan. We have furnished evidence including the judicial confession of Ajmal Amir Kasab who has vividly described as to how it was all hatched, how Hafiz Saeed had participated in the criminal conspiracy. Now it is for Pakistan to take strict legal action. The US says it will pay the reward to anyone offering information leading to Saeed's arrest. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
