Colin Firth on new movie The King's Speech
Описание

British favourites Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter have been chatting about their new movie, The King's Speech.

The film charts King George VI's struggle to overcome his stammer and lead Britain into World War 2.

The movie was well received at the Toronto Film Festival and, speaking at the London premiere, Colin said he was enchanted by his royal character George VI:

It's an extraordinary story about a man who kind of lived in the shadows and didn't want to come out. One of the things that's been striking me as I talk about it is that he obviously had to be the voice of his country during World War Two.

The guys on the other side were Hitler and Mussolini and Franco and they were using this medium to very great effect...and this fellow felt like he couldn't even speak.

Helena Bonham-Carter plays the Queen and Geoffrey Rush plays Firth's vocal coach.

The film is already being tipped for Oscar glory with experts predicting that Colin may get a Best Actor nomination. Colin was nominated last year for his performance in A Single Man.
