It seems that David Cameron has secured the backing of former prime minister Tony Blair, or so a new video would have us believe.

Mr Blair appears to place a £100 bet on the Tory leader to win the General Election, before knocking over a cardboard cut-out of Gordon Brown.

But far from Mr Blair having switched allegiances from Labour, it is actually the latest lookalike spoof from photographer and director Alison Jackson.

Jackson has been signed up by bookmakers Ladbrokes to produce a What are the odds? campaign around the General Election and World Cup.

The video, released on the internet, sees Mr Blair's lookalike walking into a branch of Ladbrokes after considering posters of all three party leaders. He fills out a betting slip with the words Cameron to win before peeling off five £20 notes from a thick wad and placing his bet.

On his way out of the shop, he pushes over a cut-out of Mr Brown which is placed between cardboard versions of Mr Cameron and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg.
