1967 Ford Fairlane 500 — Ford's Greatest Sleeper Secret смотреть онлайн
Описание видео
For 1967, Ford quietly made the standard engine in the Fairlane GT/GTA a 289 cubic-inch V8 with just 200 horsepower — down from the 390 V8's 335 horsepower standard in 1966. But hidden in the order book was something else: the legendary 427 cubic-inch side-oiler V8, available in single 4-barrel (W-code, 410hp) or dual 4-barrel (R-code, 425hp) form — but only in the plain-looking base, 500, and 500XL models, never the GT. Just 92 were built as two-door hardtops with a fiberglass scooped hood, made specifically to qualify for NHRA Super Stock drag racing. That side-oiler 427 was the same engine family behind Ford's GT40 victory over Ferrari at Le Mans — sitting quietly under the hood of what looked like an ordinary family car. 🔔 Follow for more forgotten automotive legends.
