Pacific Islands Forum Stands Firm on Decision to Exclude Donor Countries

The Pacific Islands Forum is sticking with an earlier decision by host country the Solomon Islands to exclude Taiwan and its 21 donor countries including China and the U.S. from this year's summit. Regional officials say Solomons made the decision after pressure from China to block Taiwan, which has attended the forum as a development partner since 1993. Beijing has denied this.
