Phase 1 of the Point of Presence (PoP) Project, valued at RM673.2 million, has achieved 99.11% completion, with 671 out of 677 PoPs installed in schools and industrial areas. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, addressing the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (July 10), stated that the ministry has issued two warnings to the implementing company regarding delays in the Southern Zone and is considering liquidated ascertained damages (LAD) for the remaining PoPs. Regarding underutilised internet services, Teo explained that the Education Ministry needs to consider existing contracts before subscribing to new packages.
