Penang Customs seizes over 1 tonne of ecstasy pills stashed in compressors

The Customs Department in Penang has foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,063kg of ecstasy worth RM78mil hidden inside modified silent air compressors. Customs director-general Datuk Zazuli Johan on Friday (May 12) said a local 48-year-old was arrested on the same day as the narcotics find, and has been remanded for seven days until Saturday for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
