The first of Metro's new 46-strong fleet arrives in the North East

The Tyne and Wear Metro’s first new train arrived in North East England today, Tuesday 28 February, after Stadler successfully delivered it from their factory in Switzerland – heralding a landmark moment for the £362m programme. The Stadler Class 555 train will undergo testing and driver training before entering service in the autumn.
