NYFW Fall 2023: ADEAM Goes Grunge

CEO & Creative Director of ADEAM, Hanako Maeda, channeled teenage angst for her grungy, rocker vibes Fall/Winter 2023 showing. Taking inspiration from music she listened to in the early 2000s from bands like Green Day and Blink-182, she created a collection filled with textures and patterns: faux leather, plaid, gothic lace, tulle, and velvet. The runway show switched after a power guitar solo from Japanese artist Miyavi Ishihara into a whole new collection from Maeda's gender-neutral line, ADEAM ICHI, which featured a similar motif in more androgynous styles.
