Covid-19: New cases, fatalities on the rise, says Health DG

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country saw an increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases, recoveries, active cases, deaths, admissions to public hospitals per 100,000 population, as well as infectivity rate (RT) from July 3-9 compared to the week before. In conjunction with the Aidiladha celebration, Dr Noor Hisham also reminded the people that Covid-19 cases were on the rise and that asymptomatic individuals may be carrying the virus, added that as such, people are encouraged to undergo self-tests before attending gatherings and wear face masks in crowded areas.
