208 deaths reported at immigration detention depots since 2018, says Deputy Home Minister

A total of 208 deaths were recorded at immigration detention depots from 2018 till Feb 15 this year, says Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Mohamed. The Deputy Home Minister said that when replying to a question raised by Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (BN – Pengerang) in Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (March 17), added that the government is committed to providing the best services to detainees at the immigration depots by providing care and protection to them whilst in detention.
