A stellar performance by Bhartiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh block-level polls. Saffron party won 626 seats out of a total of 825 blocks, registers victories across Varanasi, Agra, and Mirzapur. Samajwadi Party won 98 seats. The block panchayat polls were held amid widespread incidents of violence across the state.
