According to a source close to the committee, a letter from Istana Negara was sent this morning to Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad, who is the chairperson for the Committee to End Emergency. In a media statement released this afternoon, Khalid confirmed the matter and expressed hope that the event would be held soon.
