Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah defended his ministry’s stance against conducting mass testing for Covid-19 to returning employees and explained why the targeted approach was implemented to contain the outbreak. Dr Noor Hisham said that on Monday when asked whether mass screenings for workers should be undertaken in Malaysia, seeing that there were two cases in Perak where the employees only found out they were Covid-19 positive after one of them had returned to work and was screened for the virus.
