Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has decried the decision by the Dewan Rakyat to only allow the opening address by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong during a one-day meeting on May 18, claiming that it did not fulfil the rules of the August house. The former prime minister said this in a video message on Wednesday. Dr Mahathir said that he had been waiting for a chance to explain his motion to table a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, which was accepted by the Dewan Rakyat.
