A high court challenge against the Metropolitan Police's decision to ban Extinction Rebellion protests from central London has begun. The Climate change activists have asked for an urgent hearing into the matter as currently anyone out demonstrating with the group risks being arrested. Human rights lawyer Tobias Garnett, working for Extinction Rebellion, said the group would be filing a High Court claim challenging the ban on the grounds it is disproportionate and unlawful .
