Occurred on / Eifel, Germany Info from Licensor: Sand bees are very active in sandy areas every spring, and when watching and filming I noticed that the males scrape a few square meters in the constant search flight. As soon as one of the few females landed, several males often fell on it within a few seconds and tried a mating. It was a fast-paced race and it was a real challenge to put the camera in the right position fast enough to film the behavior in slow motion.
