The amount of dividends the National Pension Service received in 2018 rose around 20 percent on-year. According to the Korea Exchange Monday,.... the amount of dividends the NPS received from 2-hundred-93 listed companies of which it has at least a five percent stake in, recorded two-point-one billion U.S. dollars in 2018, up over 3-hundred-50 million dollars from 2017. The increase is attributed to the NPS's adoption of a stewardship code last year, a set of guidelines to help investors to push for better governance and higher dividends from companies they invest in. The actual combined net profit from the 2-hundred-93 companies dropped more than two percent, recording 1-hundred=17 billion dollars for 2018.
