Defence Minister Arun Jaitley met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here today. Earlier today, Jaitley visited Raj Bhavan in Srinagar; a day after ceasefire violations were reported along the Line of Control from the Pakistan side. Jaitley is in the state to review the security situation with the state government and senior military officials. This is his first visit to the state since assuming charge as defence minister last month. Yesterday, Pakistan troops violated the ceasefire by targeting Indian posts along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir with heavy firing, drawing retaliation by Indian forces.
