Raghavendra Swami was a great scholar who had a deep insight into Shastra since the beginning. 3 He studied the ancient Vedic texts and other Shastras in Kumbhakonam (the center of learning at the time) under Sudhindra Theertha. 4 He was a skilled musician and an expert in playing the Veena.
