작년 상장사 액면 변경 39개사…11.4% 감소 The number of local firms that changed the face value, or par value, of their stock decreased by 11-point-4 percent on-year in 2018 which could be a sign they're not urgently looking for new investors. There were 44 companies that changed their face value in 2017, but last year, that number was down to 39. Among them: tech giant Samsung Electronics, which lowered its face value from around 5 U.S. dollars to 10 cents. The Korea Securities Depository announced, among this group, that 30 companies opted for a stock split to increase liquidity in stock transactions... and attract more investors, while nine increased their face value mainly to boost their corporate image.
