In the early-1990s, when India began to open up its economy to foreign investments, the beverage maker - Coke started plotting a strategy to re-enter the fast-growing market. After 17 year absence, on Oct. 24, 1993, Coca-Cola made its official return to India in the shadow of the Taj Mahal.
