According to The Hill, Senate Democrats are making moves to ban assault weapons and any devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like automatic weapons. Senator Dianne Feinstein said in meeting The previous 1994 ban on assault weapons expired in 2004. This time around, the sale, production, and transfer of these weapons would be off the table. The proposed bill would require a background check on any trade or sale of these weapons that have been covered and approved by the legislation.
