Final preparations have begun in Kazakhstan ahead of the launch of a spacecraft on Friday (March 27). Soyuz TMA-16M will take NASA’s Scott Kelly and Russia’s Mikhail Kornienko to the International Space Station Station (ISS), where they are due to stay for a year. NASA and Russia have doubled the length of time astronauts stay at ISS in a bid to learn more about how the human body responds to long stays in space.
