U.S. aid group sends 2.1 mil portions of rice to N. Korea this year: VOA

It has emerged that a U.S.-based civic aid group sent large amounts of rice to North Korea this year. Voice of America reports Thursday that... the Los Angeles-based... New Asia Foundation for Education and Culture... shipped to North Korea some 2 million portions of a special kind of rice infused with extra vitamins and minerals. The shipment was made on two separate occasions in this year alone. The report said the group has provided a total of 23-million U.S. dollars worth of rice and baby food since 2007, including some 3-million dollars worth last year.
