MEP is new leader of Spanish anti-austerity party

Spain’s anti-austerity Podemos party, has named MEP Pablo Iglesias as its first secretary general. The group whose name means ‘we can’ formed in the last year out of the indignados movement. It has already outrun the country’s two main parties in terms of popularity.
