Things we said today is a song that appears on the B-side of one of the most famous Beatles albums A Hard Day's Night published in July, 1964. Although it does not appear in the eponymous movie by Richard Lester, it illustrates perfectly the soft sound from the days of Beatlemania with other pop ballads like And I love her or I'll be back also on the album.
