Congress President and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi laid the foundation for a Rs 37,229 crore refinery-cum-petrochemical complex, a joint project of Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and the Rajasthan government, at Pachpadra in Barmer district in Rajasthan. Sonia Gandhi enlisted various development initiatives of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre like MNREGA, RTI, Mid-day meal scheme and also talked about the Food Security and Land Bills.
